MOTHERBOARD LIBRARY

The Motherboard Library is a different take on the standard library. It was designed to challenge what the future of the library might be. In my opinion with advancement of technologies with easy access to information the web, and the need to reduce cutting trees for paper, books might become extinct in the future. This library does not contain any books but more so acts as a community center bringing people together. The layout of the spaces mimics a circuit board. The center lobby acts as a processing unit being the core of the structure and the paths spread to different areas as circuits. The aesthetic too is inspired by circuit boards. The top square skylight above the main lobbies represents the processing unit. From there, circuits stem through the entire building and even into landscape.
